Cornell Engineering students are working on creative solutions to a variety of engineering challenges. The Project Showcase is an opportunity to both see what these teams have been working on and to meet their members. From nanotechnology to water quality and from pharmaceuticals to semiconductors to robots, Cornell Engineering students are making valuable contributions to solving the challenges of our world. Engineering Student Project Teams involve nearly 1000 students, working on engineering challenges from developing an autonomous sailboat to designing safe drinking water solutions for developing countries. These students, as well as developing quantitative skills in the classroom, are solving real and complex engineering problems, which prepare them to hit the ground running in their careers.

Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) students engage in projects designed to provide hands-on experience solving an engineering challenge with real-world applications. Projects span the full range of engineering activities, including, for example: design; concept, prototype or product development; manufacturing or process improvements; feasibility studies; market analysis; applied or basic research; business plans; and many others. Most projects are team based and many are company sponsored to address specific industry challenges.

Through undergraduate research opportunities Cornell Engineering students experience the exciting process of discovery and innovation. Almost half of our undergraduates participate in some form of research here in the college and through our affiliations with other institutions across the country and internationally. Guided by faculty mentors, students apply classroom learning to improve existing processes or to develop entirely new approaches.

Join us as the winners of the 2017 Innovation Award Competition are announced! The Cornell Engineering Innovation Award Competition is a program for entrepreneurial undergraduate students, spanning the breadth of engineering majors as well as from across the university. The first college-wide Innovation Competition took place in May 2017. Participants from some of the 35 teams that competed will be in attendance to showcase their entrepreneurial and innovative teamwork to design and prototype. Come learn about their physical prototypes and the steps that they have taken to move forward with “real world” ideation. The Cornell Engineering Innovation Award Competition is a college-wide competition open to all engineering students. Students who have developed business concepts and prototypes in their own “garages” and outside the formal engineering curriculum are encouraged to apply for the 2018 competition.

The Cornell Society of Women Engineers will be hosting the Spring 2018 Professional Networking Dinner. Your representatives will be presented with an opportunity to meet and speak to our Undergraduate, Master's and Ph.D. students in this unique networking opportunity. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at The Statler Hotel Grand Ballroom, the evening before the Career Fair. Register in advance.
